This Convention, which replaces and repeals the provisions of the Convention relating to the development of fisheries in the Gulf of Guinea signed in Libreville on 21 June 1984 shall enter into force provisionally upon signature and definitively after the completion of two thirds of the States, the constitutional procedures required by their domestic law. It was signed and entered into force provisionally on 8 May 2009 after signature by Congo, RD Congo, and Gabon. It entered into force definitively on 15 December 2010, after signature by Cameroon (Yaounde, le 21 octobre 2010) and Sao Tome and Principe (Sao Tome, le 15 décembre 2010).
